Swirly, Hexy, Fun / NAC #82

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday. I hope wherever you are that you're warmer and drier than we are here in the DMV! It was sunny and 70 on Saturday and today, well, we're back to snow and freezing cold. AUGH! It's Tuesday, so that means another challenge with the Nachos. This week it's a color challenge and after I went for a walk in the sunshine Saturday, I went to my new craft room and got busy. I played around with a new technique and a fun new die. I'm not sure that I'm 100% thrilled with how it turned out, but I still think it's pretty. I'd love to hear what you think-

I tried the shaving-cream technique for the first time. I didn't look up the technique, just kinda winged it from memory, so I'm not sure if I did it right. I need to look it up and maybe try again. I think I had too much shaving cream. I ended up getting a really pretty marbled pattern after I pounced on it a little to get a bit more coverage. I mounted it beneath a piece of Whisper White c/s that I cut with my new Hives Die. Then I mounted those on a piece of Rose Red c/s, mounted on a Whisper White base. That Rose Red is such a pretty color, I  have no idea why I don't use it more often! I used the Six Sided Sampler for my sentiment and the stamped area beneath it.

Of course you know I had to try and do something pretty on the inside too. Well, I had plenty of ink swirled so I did a second piece of c/s and then ran it through the die also. This gave me some coordinating pieces for the inside and another cut piece for a future card. Here's my inside-

It really is a striking effect! I love the look it gives the inside, don't you? Well it only seemed fitting that as I was going out for my walk on Saturday afternoon, trying to decide what I was going to do with these colors that I saw this beautiful sight-

Cherry Blossoms, right outside my door! They were so pretty with their blend of of colors. I just didn't want to seem too predictable by going with flowers, so I swirled them instead. :)

Well, that's all I have for you today. I'd love to hear what you think about today's card. I hope you liked it and I hope it inspires you to come and play along with us. I can't wait to see what you create! As always, if you have any questions about today's card, please remember to leave me comment below and I'll be sure to get back to you.

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated! Till Next Time-

Starburst Sayings/ NAC #81

Hey y'all. Hope you're having a good week so far. It's frigid here, but at least it seems like the snow has finally left us. I was able to get in my new craft room this weekend and play and am so happy it's Tuesday and I can show you what I made! That's right it's Tuesday and that means it's time for another challenge with the Nachos. Here's what I came up with-

I'm so happy with how this card turned out! I opened my Starburst sayings and the Starburst Framelets for the 1st time and had some fun. It's just so bright and happy. I got the color combination from my upline's inspiration challenge that had some daisies and purple flowers.  The Nacho challenge for this week is a sketch and here it is-

I have to say, I was a little nervous about this sketch. I just couldn't figure out what I was going to do, not to mention, I initially thought this week's sketch was a different  one. Double Whammy! But I think it really turned out nice. Here's a closer look-

I used the new Distressed Dots Embossing Folder on the Wild Wasabi Piece and the Chevron Embossing Folder on the Whisper White background. For the "world banner" I stamped the image twice and then cut it our and attached it with some Tombow. The arrow is from the On Film  Framelets ad Peachy Keen stamp set. I mounted it on dimensionals. I added a little Dazzling Diamonds and a rhinestone to the smallest circle for a little bling.

I love having pretty insides so here's what I came up with-

I added more Dazzling Diamonds to the stamped images on the inside and my card was complete. I hope you liked today's card and I hope it inspires you to join us this week and have some Fun! If you have any questions about today's card, be sure to leave me a message below and I'll be sure to get back to you.

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated! Till Next Time-

Finally! Gorgeous Grunge / NAC #80

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday. I sure hope you're enjoying some of this warmer weather and Daylight Savings Time. YEA, Daylight!!! Tuesday means it's time for another challenge with the Nachos. I've got something that's way out of my comfort zone. I may have gone overboard a little. I might have been able to do a little less and have a little more white space but at least I tried and I have to say, I'm really excited with how it turned out! Here's this week's card-

I've used a few of the elements individually before but haven't really Used this set. Nothing like jumping right in with both feet. :)

Here's this week's color combination-

Ok...Time for truth in advertising. I came home late and "knew" what the challenge colors were since I had previously CASED something with them. Well, it turns out, I was more tired than I thought and only had 2 of the 3 right. If you're thinking my blue looks a little dark, I accidentally used Pacific Point instead. However, I really liked how it turned out and it was almost midnight. :( Also the Bakers Twine is actually Island Indigo but it matches so well. I really love how our colors all work together like that. If you didn't know, you wouldn't know.

Here's a look at the inside.I had to add a little something in there too.

Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you liked my colorful experiment and I hope it makes you ant to come play along with us! I can't wait to see what you come up with. If you have any questions about today's card, be sure to leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated. Till Next Time-

Live Happy / NAC #79

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope wherever you are you are warm. It's freezing cold here in the DMV and we're still trying to dig out from this latest storm. It's Tuesday and that means it's time for a new challenge with the Nachos. This week it's a sketch challenge and I wanted to do something bright and cheery. If you've been around here for awhile, you probably know I don't mix and match patterns and DSP very often because I honestly just don't feel that confident at it. Are you able to mix and match? I really envy those that can do that. This week's sketch just seemed to be asking for it, so I pulled out my brightest and cheeriest pack of DSP, Gingham Garden and my new SAB stamp set and started playing. Here's what I came up with-

Here's the sketch we have for you this week-

I Love this sketch!

I pulled out my Stampin Write Markers to color the stamp and used my Deco Label Framelets to cut it out. I used my 2-Way pen and a little Dazzling Diamonds for a little added shine. I sponged around all my layers to add a little depth. I used Tombow for all my layers except for my stamped image, which I popped up with dimensionals.

Here's a peek at the inside-

This card is going to be going to the manager of the property where I just moved. She's super nice and I wanted to give her a little something, just because. :) I used the new stamp set Petite Petals on the inside because I though they looked a lot like the flowers on the front. In fact, I tried punching them out, with the matching punch, for the front but they were just the tiniest bit too big. I think they were just right for the inside though. What do you think?

Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you liked it and I hope it brings a little bit of brightness into your day. I can't wait to see what you create with this week's sketch! If you have questions about today's card or any of my other projects, be sure to leave me a comment below.

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated! Till Next Time-
