You + Me / NAC

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you are staying safe, warm and dry. It's cold and yucky here in the DMV. You know what that means? It's great weather for a little stamping/crafting time. The Nacho's have a color challenge for you this week. Why don't you grab some snackage and play along with us. Here's what I came up with-

I'm so happy with how this card turned out! This would be a great card for any time of the year and not just for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday. Here's this week's color combination-

Here's a close up. This DSP worked perfectly! It had all 3 colors in it. :) Love when that happens-

That's all I have for you today. I'm ready to hunker down for a little nap and then some more craft time. I can't wait to see what you create this week. Don't forget to head over to our page and join the fun. We'd love to drop by your page and give you a little blog-lovin'. The link is at the top of this post.

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated! Till Next Time-

Scattered Merry / NAC 120

Hey y'all. Just dropping off my card today. I'm working 70+ hours a week right now and I'm just whooped! It's after midnight and morning is going to come way too quick. ;( The Nachos have a color challenge for you this week. Can't wait to see what you create!

Here's what I came up with-

Here's this week's color combo-

It's hard to see but the Silver is there. I used Silver Dazzling Details on random snowflakes. You can definitely see it in person.

You can see it a little better here in the close-up

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the universe. You are very appreciated! Till Next Time-

Grateful for You /NAC 118

Hey y'all. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving with friends and family. It's Tuesday and you know what that means. It's time for a new challenge and this week we have a beautiful color combination for you. Grab something to snack on, check out our awesome team designs and get creating. We can't wait to see what you design! Here's what I came up with-

I rarely create clean and simple cards, so they're a real challenge for me. However, this week I was in need of some thank-you cards for some recent orders and so that was my focus when I sat down to create. I have to say, I'm pretty excited with how these turned out! What do you think? Would you be happy to get one of these with your order?

Here's this week's color combo-

Here's a closer look at the tag. I used my Stampin Write Markers to color the words in our three challenge colors. The tag was sponged in Soft Sky and the seam binding is also Soft Sky. I used a small piece of Linen Thread to tie it, and then used Stampin Dimensionals to attach it.

I remembered to take a pic of the inside this week-

That's all I have for you today. I hope you liked it and I hope it inspires you to play along with us. Don't forget to link up with us so we can give you a little blog loving. )

Thinking of You / NAC 115

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you're having a good week so far. :) I'm headed back to work after a little stay-cation. My mom came up to visit and we had a great time. Just a quick entry for you today. It's time for another challenge and this week we have a color challenge for you. When I saw this week's colors I had a feeling where most people's thoughts would lean, but I wanted to do something a little unexpected. I have a friend who's been having a rough time lately and I thought I'd make a card for her. Here's what I came up with-

Here's this week's color combo-

Such a fabulous color combination. It's definitely great for the upcoming holiday season, but I wanted to try something a little different and I' so excited with how it turned out! What do you think? I used my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities for the 2 larger flowers and just the stamp pad for the 3 smaller ones. I thought it would be a great way to use the color but get more than just "the color".

Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you liked it and I'm so excited to see what you create.

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the universe. You are very appreciated! Till Next Time-

Hello Baby / NAC 114

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you're having a good week so far and you remembered to set your clocks and didn't end up going into work a hour early. I sure do love seeing sunlight on my way in, but this whole getting dark early is for the birds!!!

Well, the Nachos have a color challenge for you this week and I'm super excited about it. Do you ever see a challenge and know exactly what you want to do with it? Well, I didn't know everything, exactly, but I had enough of an idea that my card was done in no time. Well, "no time" for me at least. Here's what I came up with-

Here's this week's challenge-

Sooooo, I had the idea, for the onesie, tie, hanger, ribbon staples, tag, layers, all of it! Till I went to get the ribbon and realized the DSP was Whisper White and Not Very Vanilla. AUGH!!! Well, I think with the staples and the darker tag it still turned out ok? What do you think? I'd love to know. :) I have to say I kinda did the happy dance when I "hung" the hanger from the ribbon.

And check out the staples. They're colored!!! Did you know you can use our Blendabilities to color your staples to match your project. It's a quick and easy way to add a fun, pop of color.  I used to say I didn't get the whole "stapling" on a card, but when you can have cute, colored staples, why not? I know it's not the challenge colors, but it looks pretty good on the staples. Here's a closer look-

I used Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake Blendabilities

Here's a look at the inside-

I had already colored and cut out the booties, initially thinking I would place them on the tag but there wasn't enough room. So I decided to "dangle" them from some bakers twine. I wonder how many of you remember growing up with your baby shoes dangling from your parents/grandparents rear-view mirrors. I can still remember seeing mine there. I knotted the ends of the Pool Party bakers twine behind the booties and used a half of a glue dot to hold it in place. The booties are held with dimensionals. Believe it or not, I'm pretty excited to say, I didn't use my S-A-M-J for either one of the sentiments. Many of you will find that hard to believe, but I was so surprised myself I thought I'd share. My daughter didn't even believe at first. :0

Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope it inspires you to play along. I can't wait to see what you create!

Here's a list of some of the products I used-
Something for Baby Clear Mount Bundle includes Baby's Firsts Framelets
Lullaby Designer Series Paper
Chalk Talk Framelets
Big Shot
Magnetic Platform
Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon
Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake Blendabilities
Stampin Trimmer

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by my little corner of the universe. You are very appreciated!. Till Next Time-

Be Awesome ? NAC 110

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday. I hope you had a good weekend and are enjoying your week so far. It's hard to believe we are already well into October. Who said that was allowed to happen!?! It's getting cold here in the DMV already, which to me means it's pretty miserable. I'm not ready for Fall yet, so I really enjoyed working with this week's Nacho Color Challenge. It was warm and fun. Here's what I came up with-

I used the Happy Things Pocket Cards MDS Download to create this and it was sooooo Quick and Easy. The best part of this card- Being Digital, the possibilities and combinations are Endless! The Polka-Dots are a stamp set from the download. I just colored them with this week's colors. The sentiment is also from the same set. I'm so happy with how this turned out. Not only do I love this as a card to give to friends, I also think this would be great to use in Project Life pages. how easy to change the colors to match your layout.

Here's this week's colors-

That's all I have for you today. I hope you like today's card and I hope it inspires you to play along with us. I can't wait to see what you create! As always if you have any questions about today's project, be sure to leave me a message below and I'll be sure to get back to you.

If you need supplies for your own creations, here's a list of supplies. It's a short one this week-

Happy Halloween / NAC 108

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! Well, as much as I hate to say it, Fall is apparently already on us. Sigh. According to the calendar it just arrived yesterday. I wish though that someone had told that to the weather here. I've been wearing jackets to work in the mornings. AUGH!!! That being said, the cooler weather was definitely on my mind when I was designing this week's card. The Nachos have a color challenge for you this week and the colors are soooo Yummy. They're from our new In-Colors and I can't wait to see what you create with them. Here's what I came up with-

I'm sooooo excited by how this card turned out. There were so many fun parts... the pumpkins and matching framelets, the cute little bats, the fringe scissors I finally got around to using and that beautiful DSP I used it on, the Bite Me set for the sentiment on the front and the Awesome New Rotary Stamp for the inside (L.U.V. that!).

Here's this week's colors-

I did add the smallest amount of So Saffron for the moon, but other than that I just used the colors. I did use the Naturals Ivory cardstock and love the look it gave the card. Sometimes it really is the small things that make a big difference.

Are you loving all the bundles in the catalogs? Not only do I love not having to fussy cut, I love getting a discount when I get the bundle. LOL, that just means more money for more product!

3 Pumpkins and 3 different framelets. So much easier than in previous years!

***Tip*** For the pumpkins I inked them up with my Tangelo Twist Ink Pad and then used a baby wipe to remove the ink from the stem. I then used my Stampin' Write Marker in Mossy Meadow to color in the stem. I keep a pack of baby wipes in my studio at all times for quick touch-ups. Have you tried them yet? They also work great as DIY stamp pads with different techniques.

***Tip #2*** When using your Fringe Scissors be sure to stop about ¾ of the way up the length of the scissors. If you go to the end you will get a little tearing at the bottom instead of crisp lines. Ask me how I know.

Here's a look at the inside-

Here's something I bet you never thought you'd hear me say... I love how the letters don't line up perfectly with the rotary stamp. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! Did you read that with Gomer Pyle's voice? Because that's surely how I wrote it. :) It reminds me of being a little girl and playing with my grandmother's rotary stamp. Funny how something small can instantly transport you somewhere else. I inked up my stamp with my Memento Tuxedo Black Ink for my cute little face and my card was done.

That's all I have for you today. I hope you liked today's card and I hope you're going to play along with us this week! As always, if you have any questions, please be sure to leave me a message and I'll get back to you.

Here's a list of the products used for today's card-

A Little Kindness and Some Nacho and Chili Cheese / NAC 106

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you're having a good week so far. It's Tuesday and of course that means it's time for another challenge with the Nachos. At the end of this post I have some exciting news to share with all of my friends. (That's you!) :) Most of you know that I'm not a big fan of color challenges, just too many options. You might also know that I don't usually go for "Collage" style stamp sets, once again too many choices and not enough structure for me. Soooo, imagine my surprise when I threw this card together and ended up extremely happy with it-

This is not a set I would have purchased, but it was one of our Convention sets and I have to say, I'm seeing a lot of fabulous projects with it. (kind of like Gorgeous Grunge from last year)

Here's this week's color combo-

I think I'm going to be able to make some pretty baby cards with this too. It's just so soft and pretty! I did the inside of the card & the envelope with the sun and little butterfly stamped off twice. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic of the inside and the envelope. Sorry about that. :(

Many of you know we have been expecting a New Little Bundle of Joy. I knew my daughter was going to need a big stroller with an 18 month old and a newborn, and little Nacho has been sleeping with me when she comes over, so I was going need somewhere for the little one to sleep. Turns out that a friend of mine, an Origami Owl teammate, had a double stroller and a pack & play she was going to give to Salvation Army and gave it to me instead. How Amazing was that!?! So this card was definitely made for her. I wrote on a sticky note and put that inside the card so she can use it again later.

So for my News-

A few months back, when my nephews found out we were getting another baby, they decided little Nacho's (her parents can't stand when we call her that) :) baby sister was going to need an equally cool name. What did they come up with? Chili Cheese!!! yep, you read that right. Nacho and Chili Cheese. SMH Well, little Chili Cheese arrived last Thursday, 3 weeks early, (induced) and is absolutely perfect. She arrived on Sept 4, 2014 at 11:45 am and weighed in at 6 lbs 13 oz and 19.5 inches long. Mom and baby are doing well and so is her Big Sis Nacho, who is already doing an Absolutely Amazing job. Chili Cheese, like most infants sounded a lot like a little kitten when she cried and so Nacho took to calling her "Meow" which at 18 months is still her name for my cats. Whenever little C.C. cries Nacho takes her blanket to her and gives her kisses. Are you just melting or what?!? So here's a few pics of my little darlings-

Sorry, I didn't get to edit this and rotate it but isn't she just precious?

"He-ah, Meow." C.C. was only about an hour old here
and Nacho wanted to share her GiGi (what she calls her blankie that I made her)
with her little sister because she was fussin'

My two little Princesses

I was "kangarooing" with C.C. (skin to skin) to help keep her body temp up
and  help with comforting and bonding. She was only about 30 minutes old here.

Well, that's all I have for you this week. I hope you liked my card and the newest family pics.

Here's a list of supplies I used for today's card-

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you're having a good week and are getting ready for the upcoming holiday weekend. :) I've spent the last few days prepping for my upcoming Fall/Holiday classes and I'm soooo excited by what I'm going to be able to show you. I did take a little time out though for this week's challenge. Actually, I took quite a bit of time because I did next weeks challenge accidentally first. SMH. Good news is that one's done. :) #GlassHalfFull The Nachos have a Color Challenge for you this week and here's what I came up with-

I L.O.V.E. MDS for coming up with cards in a snap! This card just strikes me as So Bright and Cheery and perfect for the sentiment (which I chose first). I used a border and drop shadow to make the DSP layer really stand out. I used the color tool to color my stamp with two of our challenge colors. I added the 3 colored sequins for an extra little pop of color.

Here's this week's challenge colors-

What a fun combination we have to play with this week. I can't wait to see what you create with them!

Sealed with a Kiss / NAC #102

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a great weekend and are having a great start to your week. I'm so glad you stopped by this week. The Nacho's are starting our 2nd 100 challenges and we can't wait to see what you will create. We've got a color challenge for you this week and I know you are going to come up with something Amazing! The color's reminded me of one of our special orders last year, Sent with Love. I was so happy to see it available in MDS and that's what I used for this weeks challenge. Here's what I created-

It's hard to tell, but this is actually on a white base. I love playing around with my MDS and I got to flip and switch some of the DSP and create special layers. What's your favorite tool in MDS? Well, in case you haven't figured out the colors for this week's challenge, here they are-

I can't wait to see what you create with this week's challenge. As always, if you have any questions about this week's design, be sure to leave me comment in the space below, so I can get back to you.

Leave the Rest / NAC # 96

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday. I hope you had a great weekend and are getting ready for the upcoming Holiday weekend. The Nacho's have a Color Challenge for you this week and they are beautiful. Here's what I came up with-

Do you ever find yourself having a favorite technique? Lately my favorite has been combining colors to create a blended background. I did it for this week's color challenge and the last color challenge too. It creates such a soft, subtle background. The Wild Wasabi for the leaves isn't part of the challenge, just a little accent color. I stamped the flowers on a scrap piece of paper and then fussy cut them out. I added a little Dazzling Diamonds and then adhered them with Tombow and Dimensionals.

This week's colors are Costal Cabana, Pacific Point and Rose Red. That Rose Red sure is pretty. I'm not sure why I don't use it more often. That's one of the bonuses to Color Challenges. They get you to use colors that you might not use often.

Here's a look at the inside-

I split the sentiment between the front and inside.  The flowers are the 2nd and 3rd stamping of the image to get them a little lighter than the front.

Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed today's card and I hope it inspires you to play along with us this week. I can't wait to see what you come up with! As always, if you have questions, please be sure to leave me a comment below so I can get back to you.

True North / NAC #94

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday. I hope you're hang a great week. We're in a hear wave here with temps in the 90's. The Nacho's have a color challenge for you this week.  I've had this card in mind for a few weeks now and this challenge seemed just right for it.

My sweetie's in Cali and literally right across from the marina. If I didn't love him so much... Any-whoo, we both love the water and are working on our sailing certificates. He is my rock, he centers me, he is my True North. When I saw this set, I knew it would be one of those that I would be keeping even after the occasions catalog was finished. Hope you like it-

Ok, so I'm a loser face and apparently didn't download the color challenge. I'll have to come back and edit this. I thought the PDF I had recently downloaded had all my challenges and it did, but just so I could see them, not use them. SMH! It's been a long few weeks.

The colors are Island Indigo, Pool Party and Pistachio Pudding. It's hard to tell but the top panel has all three colors sponges onto a piece of whisper white /s and the edges sponged in Island Indigo. I thought my sweetie might like the nautical aspect of it and the sentiment was just perfect.

Here's a closer look-

That's all I have for you today, at least until I come back and edit the color's in. :( I hope you like it and I hope it inspires you to play along with us. I can't wait to see what you create! Colorful Postcard / NAC # 92

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday. I hope you're having a great week so far! Did you see what came out yesterday? Our New 2014-2015 Catalog!!! It's wonderful! Make sure you check back soon for some  projects featuring new items. Today the Nachos have a color challenge for you. I don't mind telling you I had no idea what I was going to do with these colors. So I went to my stamp racks and looked and this is what I came up with. Hope you like it-

I used Baked Brown Sugar for my neutral and then used my Stampin Write Markers to layer the colors directly onto the stamps. I even used the marker direct to the "Postcard" stamp. Because it has so much open area, it's very easy for the ink to get on the flat portion of the stamp, and for you to get un-intentioned ink spots. That's one reason I love my markers so much.

I had actually not intended on adding the stamps down the side, but stamped my main image a little farther to the left than I had intended. It probably wouldn't have bothered anyone but me, but... At any rate, I'm really happy with how it turned out. :) Love when that happens. How about you?

Here's this week's color combo-

It's such a rich, combination. I can't wait to see what you come up with! That's all I have for you today. As always, if you have questions about today's card, don't forget to leave me a comment. I'll be sure to get back to you.

Another Fabulous Work of Art / NAC # 90

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you're having a great week so far! I had a wonderful weekend. I got to spend Saturday afternoon with a teammate and then got some stamping done and then went to a big team meeting for 5 hours on Sunday and spent some time Sunday evening with a friend. I also managed to put 2 bookcases together. I have to say I'm feeling rather accomplished so far.

Well, our New Catalog isn't even out yet and I'm afraid you're going to be tired of this set. I'm in love with it and it's Soooo not my style but I'm having such a fun time using it. I used it this week for our Nacho Color Challenge. Instead of using it like I had intended, I just used the sentiment, but I still used it. It really is such a versatile set. I don't often use retired sets in cards I post on here because if you like it, it will be hard for you to get them. But this set is from this year's Sale-A-Bration and I'm sure there are plenty still around. I love how it turned out-

I very rarely use a whole sheet of DSP for a card front, but it was just soooo pretty and, it was retired and, I needed to make room the beautiful new DSP coming in just a few weeks! It wasn't so long ago that I wouldn't have made this card like this because, it has colors other than just the 3 challenge colors, but I'm learning to allow myself to be a little more flexible with this just like the sketches can be a jumping off point instead of an exact match. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy, still one of my favorite colors especially now that Midnight Muse is retiring, punched it out with the Curly label Punch and then framed it with two more curly label punches.

Here's this week's color combo-

Here's the inside-

Can you believe I have not been using the SAMJ to stamp that sentiment and it's wood mounted? Did you fall off your chair? :)

I recently started selling Origami Owl Jewelry and a friend of mine made one of my initial purchases. I make a thank you card to go with all my purchases that my customers can use again, usually a 3x3 or 4x4 but since my friend helped me start out,  I needed a special thank you card for her. I thought this one would be nice. I included a little gift that would be just for her-

I'm happy to say, she liked both her jewelry and her card/bookmark. Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you liked today's projects and I hope they inspired you to play along with us. I can't wait to see what you create!. As always if you have any questions about today's project, please remember to leave me a post below so I can get back to you.

Fabulous Work of Art / NAC #88

Edited- I can't believe I forgot to schedule this to post. Sometimes I'm such a hare-brain!

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope y'all are having a good week so far! It's Tuesday and I'm super excited this week to share our challenge with you. I recently got to attend the Stampin' Up Catalog Premiere and it was So Much FUN!!! We got to see lots of new products and the best part in addition to getting our own catalogs before anyone else was we all got a new stamp set! I even got a new pack of the New In-Color Paper and it is Fabulous! I'm not going to tease you with it just yet but I am going to whet your appetite with the new stamp set. I'm not usually one for very abstract sets, because I don't feel like I'm very good with them, but I couldn't wait to get my ink on this one, even with it being wood. And, I didn't even use my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for this week's card! Hope you enjoy it-

Here's this week's color combo-

Here's what I came up with for the inside-

I simply stamped a third time from the front of the card without re-inking and turned the stamps for a different placement. Love, Love, Love this set!

Well, that's all I have for you this week. I hope you liked my card, and I hope you like this sneak-peek of our upcoming catalog. Most of all, I hope it inspires you to play along with us. I can't wait to see what you come up with! As always if you have any questions, please leave me a comment in the space below and I'll be sure to get back to you.

Hey y'all. Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a wonderful Holiday weekend and are having a great start to your week. :) Just a quick post here today, because I'm getting a late start. Sorry about that. We have a super-cute Color Challenge for you this week over at Nacho Average Challenge, and we sure hope you'll join us. Even though Color Challenges aren't my favorite, I really had fun with this one. I hope you will too-

This was my first time doing this type of card and to be honest it took me two times because I scored in the wrong place, even though I thought I was being careful and following directions. I really like this fold though and the design possibilities with it.

Here's this week's combination. I'm not sure where our fearless leader comes up with these, but this is a favorite-

Here's a look at how the card looks opened up-

And of course a pretty inside-

I didn't add any glitter or bling because I was going for something to give to a guy, but it would be easy enough to bling it up a notch or two.

Well, that's all I have for you today. I hope you liked my card, and I hope it inspires you to play along with us. I can't wait to see what you create! If you need measurements or instructions for this type card, or if you have any questions, don't forget to leave me a note in the space below. I'll be sure to get back to you.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to tsp by my little corner of the world. You are very appreciated! Till Next Time-

Remember- Life is often more about the storms than the peace they seek to overwhelm. It's not about Waiting for the storms to pas, but Learning to Dance in the rain.

Be Safe,
Shan
